Die Italienerin Lia Cecchin war Stipendiatin der HALLE 14 im Rahmen des EU-Projektes Second Chance. Sie schafft Installationen mit Hang zur performativen Geste, oft seriell und ortsspezifisch, sowie Videoarbeiten.
Katharina Merten ist Meisterschülerin an der Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst Leipzig und Mitglied von Volte Studio, ein Projekt an der Schnittstelle von Kunst und Literatur, das seit 2012 in einem der Ateliers der HALLE 14 wirkt. Mit ihren Werken, die von Grafik- über Videoarbeiten bis hin zu raumgreifenden Installationen und Interventionen ein weites mediales Feld umfassen, bewegt sich Katharina Merten zwischen Popkultur und künstlerischer Praxis.
Die französische Künstlerin und Grafikdesignerin Lætitia Gorsy war bereits 2012 Stipendiatin des Residenzprojektes One-sided Story. Auch sie bedient sich vielfältiger Bildquellen, die sie mal absurd mal verblüffend in Editionen, Büchern und Drucken neu interpretiert. Die drei Künstlerinnen stellten im Künstlergespräch eine Auswahl ihrer Arbeiten vor und sprachen über die Hintergründe ihrer künstlerischen Tätigkeit.
Im Anschluss wurde bei Gegrilltem der temporäre Frühlingsgarten eröffnet, denMaÅ¡a Cvetko, ebenfalls Stipendiatin im Rahmen von Second Chance, gestaltete. Das Buffet des Abends wurde mit Mitgebrachtem bestückt.

As resident artist sponsored by the EU Project “Second Chance“, Italian Lia Cecchin worked in her HALLE 14 atelier. Working primarily with installations and videos, Cecchin’s pieces are oftentimes characterized by performative gestures that are serial and site-specific.
Katharina Merten is a masters student on the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst Leipzig and member of Volte Studio– a group which, since 2012, has enriched the first floor of HALLE 14 with projects that stand at the interface of art and literature. Merten’s pieces range from graphic works to videos, installations and interventions that are compromised of many medias and allow her meddle with both pop culture and artful practice.
The french artist and graphic designer Lætitia Gorsy took part in One-Sided Story’s resident project in 2012. Gorsy employs diverse materials in the making of her newly interpreted books, editions and prints– artworks that are absurdist at times and stunning at others. The three artists introduced a selection of their works and spoke on their artistic backgrounds.
